I know there are a lot of us out there that can remember the days before YouTube. Dark, dismal, productive.
I know there are many of us who have had YouTube binges where one video leads to another to another and before you know it, your day is more than half gone and what do you have to show for it? I'll tell you. This:
I've shared this video with you before. Because it is my favorite YouTube video of all time. The day it first came into my life I showed it to everyone I came in contact with, including my roommates, co-workers, dinner group, and FHE family. One of those people was my bosom friend Kristin.
Fast forward many months to last week when I was visiting Kristin and Sam after my long absence in New York and they were on a YouTube binge. It led to this:
Which led to Kristin saying: "This makes me want to go through my iTunes and try every song to this video. " Amen, sister. Amen.
However, as you can imagine this would take copious amounts of time that we don't have, but apparently some people do. Because if you're on YouTube long enough, you will find an abundance of Seize the Day videos set to different songs, some of which aren't so good, but a lot that are pretty great. And while I don't have time to make any of these videos myself, I apparently have time to blog about the people that do and share the videos with you. I realize there are a lot of people who have lost interest in this post at this point, and I'm ok with that. I'm going to keep rolling with it anyway.
Here are all the Seize the Day videos that Kristin, Sam and I found that night as well as some more that I found today in my downward spiral of underproduction. In your judgment of my use of time, I refer you to this quote by John Lennon: "Time you enjoyed wasting was not wasted."

Bad Romance 2.0 - The Glee Version
This excited me more than anything because it's just as good as the original, but better because I like the Glee version of the Lady Gaga hit so much more.
Bonus:
King of New York/Just Dance
I think we can all agree that the Bad Romance one is superior, whether you prefer Gaga or Glee. I think we can also agree that the real lesson to be learned here is that Kenny Ortega is a choreographic genius. Any dance that inspires people to set it to every song in their iTunes list has something going for it.
And we WILL learn the dance. You can run and tell that.
So I'm staying home sick today and that just made me so happy. Also, we have the same taste in music, just thought you would want to know. Thank you for providing me with my morning entertainment. Let's learn that dance sometime, okay?
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you liked it :) We are learning the dance. Done and done.
